BRIEF HISTORY
and funeral service operation being developed on Lakeland Drive across from St. Paul Catholic
Church, The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Pinelake Baptist Church. This location was
chosen and purchased in 1994 for this very purpose – to fill a much needed void for a complete
cemetery and funeral service operation in this area of central Mississippi. Lakeland Place is
designed not just for the immediate area, but for a radius of approximately 30 miles.
The Lakeland Place infrastructure is far superior to most cemeteries. We know of no other
cemetery in Mississippi that has the in depth architecturally and engineered planning and designed
infrastructure. Infrastructures cannot be seen by the naked eye, but will appear over time in things
such as consistent uniformity, structural strength, quality and beauty of features and overall
development and construction stability – designed for eternity.
One of Lakeland Place’s mottos is “There is a Difference”. There is a difference, and in some
cases there are huge differences. Perception is not always reality as it may be seen or perceived to
be, or influenced by others to be. It is like judging a book by its cover and discovering we were
wrong in what we perceived or maybe judged.
Another Lakeland Place motto is “A Family Heritage is being built at Lakeland Place . . . For all
the Right Reasons”. Family heritages are being built at Lakeland Place - for the right reasons.
Lakeland Place Garden Park Cemetery is for all families that prefer what Lakeland Place is planned
and designed to be and become – the Ultimate - as their eternal place of rest – for all the right
reasons.
The acceptance of Lakeland Place has been outstanding and growing at a faster than expected
pace. Phase II will begin this year – 2008. Phase II will consist of the entrance signage; beginning
the entrance security building, brick column security fencing across the front of cemetery, adding the
second layer of asphalt on present asphalted streets – after weak spots are repaired, and initial
planting of trees and shrubbery.
Lakeland Place Funeral Home construction is in planning and design stages as well.
Until now, most of the time and focus has been on planning and designing. Now that the planning
and designing is finally behind us and developing does not require near as much personal time; the
focus is changing more to helping families make the right decisions in advance planning their
cemetery and funeral arrangements.
This will require additional assistance – good assistance from good people. As a member of our
dedicated team, you can anticipate a competitive compensation package, along with ground floor
opportunities to advance and grow.

available. The qualified applicant will have a high school diploma. College or some college is
preferred but not a requirement. Good oral, written and interpersonal skills are a plus and able to
